The RATIONALE – we live in a District with 15,000,000 people.  Studies suggest that possibly as many as 12,000,000 don’t know Christ.  While we are not the only denomination working to increase its efforts to reach-out to this population, we certainly want to do our part!  We envision every church healthy and growing and 10 church-plants per year.

YOUR ALLEGHENY DISTRICT staff is working to come alongside all of our churches and all of our church-planters to assist them in being healthy and fruitful:  offering retreats and training seminars, credentialing, networking, and working with churches as they navigate conflict or find a new pastor. 

 Yet to fund our efforts, we need the increased support of the very churches we serve!  So we have developed the following PLAN…

 The STRATEGY – 4 Boards to Ride  

1.        $100,000  RIDE THE WAVE campaign.  The goal is to see $100,000 in offerings from our churches and our partners by the end of 2009.  This is being promoted within our churches and among our partners.  You can make online donations at THIS LINK

2.      A small 1% INCREASE of KINGDOM PARTNERSHIP GIVING (formerly FAIR SHARE) to YOUR ALLEGHENY DISTRICT MINISTRIES among all our churches and plants will underwrite the ministries of YOUR ALLEGHENY DISTRICT STAFF.   We realize that this may take up to a year, hence the $100,000 upstart.

3.       PARTNERSHIPS – we will continue to seek out individual partners and community partners in urban centers by promoting the message of our Mission and Vision.

4.      Annual Executive Roundtables with all our district’s pastors and their elders or leadership teams.  At these roundtables we will share how the investments of the Kingdom Partnership Giving are being used, and we will come alongside those leaders to help them evaluate their own health internally and as it relates to partnerships within the District.

 HOW YOU CAN BE INVOLVED:

 As a Congregation

– participate in the RIDE THE WAVE offering by promoting it in your church and taking a special offering.  Then send your offering District Office.    THEN rejoice with us for what God is doing among us!

-Plan to increase your KINGDOM PARTNERSHIP GIVING  to YOUR Allegheny District by 1% of our total general giving over this next year.

 As an Individual
